Go-To-Market for Early Stage Startups
The Cardinal Collective at 1 Million Cups Charleston
In September 2026, I presented The Cardinal Collective at 1 Million Cups Charleston, the Kauffman Foundation's weekly gathering where founders share their businesses and get honest feedback from the community.
My message was simple: most startups don't have a product problem, they have a go-to-market problem. Too many founders launch without a defined ICP, a sales playbook, or a working CRM, and the result is wasted budget and stalled growth.
I walked through how The Cardinal Collective closes that gap as a fractional GTM partner, with three ways to work together: a GTM Health Check for founders who need clarity fast, a Fractional GTM Partnership for founders with a product but no repeatable way to sell it, and Sales Enablement for teams ready to sharpen their process. Every engagement follows the Cardinal Flight Path, a four-phase method (Nest, Wings, Launch, Soar) that takes a company from positioning and ICP through a working revenue engine to KPIs and a clean handoff.
I shared two real examples: an early-stage startup that went from founder-led sales with no process to a defined ICP, its first sales playbook, and a structured CRM, and a 500+ person company that went from siloed teams and outdated materials to standardized sales communication and a living content library.
